Look what I found!

So yesterday almost hubby and I went to Columbus Flea Market to browse and pass the time. It was nice actually because I normally find that place to be over crowded and just overall kind of frustrating. But yesterday, it rained a little before we got there, and there were thunderstorm warnings for a little later..so there was hardly anyone there. I loved it! haha. We were lucky and picked up a few things for good prices, but look at my favorite:

It is the absolute cutest picture ever. It's framed and was $1.00.. and every time I look at it I giggle. I'm torn between hanging it in our downstairs bathroom, or our bedroom. And I have no idea when it's from..the 70's maybe?

Want It Wednesday!

Hey guys..it's all about the shoes today. I just can't help myself..but who doesn't constantly find shoes that they want?

1. These turquoise beauties from Shoes.com. I think they look like great wedding shoes, elegant, yet fun with the color. They could be your something blue.

2. These lovely sparkly ones also from Shoes.com. Okay, I recognize that they are a little impractical..but sometimes impracticality can be the most fun. =). I want them in the multi (shown below), and also in silver. Silver would be great for New Years Eve!
3. Last but not least from Shoes.com, these are just stunning. I am absolutely obsessed with the color. And I would totally wear them at my future wedding. YUM.
4. EVERYONE has seen these heeled saddle shoes right? Well, yeah. I want at least one pair! Particularly in a brown hue.. I think they're great shoes to have and are so versatile.
These ones are from Modcloth.com and would work just fine indeed.

5. Silly, maybe. A little late? Perhaps. I want simple gladiator style sandals, kind of like this pair from H&M. I think they're great basics to have, especially in black.
6. I want/NEED a pair of nude pumps. There are examples all over the place..but I really like these ones I found doing a quick search on Amazon.com. I am short, so I'll happily accept help making my legs look a million miles long. LOL.

Alrighty that's it for today..I hope you liked it, and now can covet these shoes along with me.. =) Have a happy day!

GUYS-I sewed today

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend and a wonderful Easter! We had a great day with our families and way way too much candy. =)
I took Murphy to the vet today and he now weighs 29.6 pounds at 12 weeks! Luckily though, he's still very sleepy in between his little bursts of puppy energy so yeah. The cats are even warming up to him.

I have been slowly but surely working on a little knitting project that may turn into a scarf eventually. Yeah, this is a weeks progress. Sometimes it's hard to stay task oriented for me (or have enough time to focus on one thing), so I get 4 rows done at a time/day but you know. Whatevs. It's kind of a waffle pattern, I'm not sure how well it comes through on this picture.

Ew, and for some reason the green looks much more intense ( probably the crappy lighting LOL) but it's actually a bit more muted in real life.
SO- back to the title of this post, I actually sewed today. I'm shocked and appalled. Ha, no actually, I'm thrilled. I worked on some more disappearing nine squares and actually managed to finish 4 in about an hour. (Which, between checking on the dog every two seconds cuz I'm ridiculous and random other side tracks I do consistently, is pretty darn good)
I really like how they look, and if you'll again excuse my awful lighting, please take a gander:

And now, again, Murphy is sleeping. I stopped in the middle of this post to take him out because he finally woke up for two seconds (potty training= take dog out after he wakes up, after play times, after eating and drinking, and consistently throughout the day..yeah, phew.) And he's already back to doing this again:
Silly wittle puppin.
Sorry, I know I"m completely obsessed with my puppy. You will be too, I promise.

Hi- I haven't quit- I'm on spring break =)

Hey everyone,
I just wanted to pop in and let you all know that I haven't quit blogging. Your words of encouragement really meant a lot to me and were just what the doctor ordered!
However, Billy is on spring break this week which is why I haven't written anything. We've spent our precious time with him planting flowers, playing, seeing Hop at the movies, and other awesome family fun stuff. I'll be back on Monday with hopefully interesting things for you all to read. =)
I don't have any new project pictures currently..so enjoy this picture of a fire hydrant--YAY

I am in quite a little blogging pickle my friends

I don't find what I have to say very interesting.  LOL
 But really.

I haven't sewn anything in a couple..or few, weeks now. Yes, I miss it. I'm trying to get into the groove of puppy mommy hood and work schedules and life and stuff.

But, initially I was all like, well I will still post and be all fancy pants like even though I don't necessarily have time to sew. So, that's cool. Great idea, no? But the problem is, I really don't feel all that interesting. Or fancy. Why would anyone really want to read about things I want to buy, or other random tidbits of my little life?
Am I just being a negative Nancy?I've kind of been in a funk recently about certain things.
Someone tell me. haha. No really, should I bother?
I think I'm just over thinking it. Meh. I don't know.I should just get over it. Maybe?

the littlest joys

Some of the littlest joys are the best ones..

Seeing the first hints of growth from my little herb garden is one of my simple joys.

Those pictures are from two weeks ago. You should see them now, proud green stems that will soon be yummy basil, chives, and parsley. =)

On my sewing "table"..

So in the interest of  making time for sewing, I thought I'd help motivate myself by showing all the projects I'm currently working on, AND how messy the sewing room is. It's actually a little embarrassing how messy I have let the guest bed get. Oops.

I so kindly labeled all the *crap* all over the bed so you can see what's what.

Ugh. Such a mess.

But so yeah, current projects.

First, it's to finish the quilt that's draped over the end of the bed. The batting on the bed and red fabric are for it. Here's the fabric I picked for the binding:

Just a nice and simple good old fashioned polka dot.

Another project is I'd like to re make this dress in a fabric that is much easier for me to picture myself in. AND will be much easier to sew with.

It's a navy blue cotton with little strawberries all over it. I got it from a yard sale for not even fifty cents for 4-ish yards.

Lastly, I'm also working on a "disappearing nines" quilt. Using the charm packs I bought from my fabric shopping trip.
Of course these are but a few of the projects I'd like to work on..I have way too many ideas and never enough time! I'll get to them all eventually though, I will. But first I need to clean. That bed is atrocious. =)

Want It Wednesday! (kind of)-and a life update!

Hi everyone! I can't believe it's already Wednesday again--and that we've already had our Murphy for a whole week. It's been a little crazy here, between the new puppy, almost hubby's new work schedule, and life as usual (which is always a little hectic in general)..I have done absolutely no sewing at all. =(. I did however, gaze longingly at my sewing machine while getting the vacuum yesterday. It was all like "Hi friend, I miss you too!"..at least I imagine it would say that LOL.
I do have to say that even though it has only been a week since we brought Murphy home, all my watching him like a hawk and attention to him is really paying off (not just mine, almost hubby's too, obv). He is doing really really well with housebreaking, already knows basic commands (sit, come, down, wait, heel) He is very smart, really sweet, and, although exhausting for now, a real pleasure to have.
at the vet..20lbs at 9 weeks

Getting comfortable with the crate, no?
So yeah..
My Want it Wednesday is really simple today..and nothing I can buy.
I want to have some sewing time really soon.

That would be absolutely lovely.

Meet Murphy

Hey everyone! Sorry I missed Want It Wednesday this week, and didn't post yesterday.  =) Woops! But truly, I have a valid excuse! On Wednesday, almost hubby and I had the insane notion to drive out to Lancaster, PA and look at a few Rottweiler puppy litters. We have been talking about getting a dog for awhile now, so it wasn't a surprise really.
We ended up leaving with a beautiful, cute, huge, 8 week old soon-to-be-tank puppy who we named Murphy.
Look at that little cutie.
So needless to say, all of our spare time has been spent potty training and regular training, and keeping the cats sane...I might not have a TON of time for sewing in the near future. Yes, we're crazy. But he is very very smart and sweet.

Can you tell he's teething? =)
